WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29

SPECIAL EVENTS  |  1:00pm - 1:45pm

Presentation Theater: Opening Keynote

SPECIAL EVENTS  |  1:00pm - 2:30pm

Lighting Master Class | FREE to all attendees

The Master Classes In Lighting sessions will be led by veteran director of photography George Spiro Dibie, ASC. Each will feature different top cinematographers, who will show clips from favorite projects and then discuss how the lighting was accomplished. They will then take questions from the audience at hand. Dibie will serve as the host and moderator for all four sessions. The classes will be FREE to all Expo attendees and take place in the DVE Center Stage.

"The quality of the lighting is one of the key distinctions between competent camerawork and fine cinematography, regardless of your recording device, whether is be film or digital, HD or SD," says DV magazine editor David E. Williams, who is also the Digital Video Expo Conference Chair. "All of the directors of photography participating in these sessions are experienced veterans who have been faced with every possible lighting scenario, from immense sets to intimate portraiture. And anyone who is seeking to improve their own images would do well to sit in on each of the Master Classes in Lighting sessions, which are absolutely free for all Expo attendees."

This year, for Digital Video Expo 2010, Dibie will plotted out an entirely new program of speakers from the American Society of Cinematography to discuss the art of lighting. Previous speakers have included such ASC luminaries as Owen Roizman, Daniel Pearl, Johnny E. Jensen, Isidore Mankofsky, Don M. Morgan, David Darbey, Denis Lenoir, Roberto Schaefer, Anthony R. Palmieri, and ASC President Michael Goi. Moderator: George Spiro Dibie, ASC; Speakers TBA
